DS106 Daily Create-Child’s Play

Today’s Daily Create encouraged others to share stories or pictures of their favorite toys/playthings when they were small children.  As a kid in the 80’s, we had really lame Legos.  There were few, if any, Lego figures included with the sets.   In 1986, I received the most amazing Lego castle, (called Knight’s Castle) with a drawbridge that opened and closed, a prison cell, and towers.  I had a few knights and soldiers included.  I spent so many hours playing with it.  Since there weren’t a lot of Lego figures I would use other small figurines to add to the stories I would imagine.  The next year my sister received the above Lego set:  6066 Camouflaged Outpost.  We were in awe of this set that featured Robin Hood and his Merry Men-there was a boulder that hid a secret entrance…can you say more?  The lookout tree and treasure chests were amazing to us.  The sad thing is, I don’t know where it went.   This set was so beloved and somehow got lost in the shuffle…wish I could find it again.  Ok, so it is on Bricklink for $56+.  Maybe I’ll get it for my sister’s birthday…but in reality,  it’s just the memories that have the value.

I was searching for a video on YouTube for this set and I wasn’t disappointed.  I decided to make a small GIF to give my audience a great view of the set.  I added the title, Deluxe Lego Set from the 80’s so perhaps people would understand that at the time, this set was awesome.  I suppose it is hard to compare to my daughter’s 2017 Lego Millennium Falcon though…
